Yale Peabody Museum Interactive Kiosks
Data Visualization, Animation, Illustration
Collaborated with the team at Sitara and the gallery team at Yale as the Lead Visual Designer on the touch kiosks for the new renovation of the Yale Peabody Museum.
These touch kiosks display competency working in Unreal Engine, After Effects, Figma, and Photoshop.
Dispersal
Animation, Design, IllustrationThe Dispersal kiosk at the Yale Peabody Museum shows how geography and colonialism has directed the dispersal of three populations globally.
Created 3 looping sequences and 17 transition animations in total.
Adivsed on UI/UX design, and created Figma prototype based on teammate’s design. Implemented feedback from user testing sessions to produce an accessible experience.
Growing planes of color represent movements of each population, with text labels annotating geographic locations, and arrows to help symbolize movement over bodies of water.
Annotative arrows appear and disappear in the same direction in order to ensure accuracy in comprehension. Geographic text labels help put landforms in context, and help aid with the historical narrative of each pattern of dispersal.
Adivsed on UI/UX design, and created Figma prototype based on teammate’s design. Implemented feedback from user testing sessions to produce an accessible experience.
Transition to Grasslands
Worked as sole animator for the new Grasslands exhibit, showing the life cycle of grassland biomes and how fire plays an essential part in its regrowth.
Created 3 looping sequences and 2 transition animations in total.
Locomotion
Animated for 3 kiosks on the topic of primitive Locomotion–explaining how these early life-forms learned how to walk on land, run, and take flight.
Created nine enviornmentally immerive 3D animations of scientifically accurate models with models created for Yale by Kelskora.
